Therefore, they constitute a barrier impermeable to liquids and gases. The cork does not soak up water, so it does not get wet. It can be used as a material for insulating walls or floors. On the other hand, the cork underlay under the floor ensures a pleasant temperature as well as smoothes the surface and reduces the creaking of wooden floors.
